Allison is a writer, art maker and art lover based in Queens, NY. Her work as a costume maker has been in Broadway productions including Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, The Lion King, My Fair Lady, and others. She was taught by neighbors to sew, quilt, and weave from a young age and has turned it into a 10+ year career as a seamstress and textile artist.

“For my Liocorn, I made a soft sculpture, entirely hand quilted from specially sourced fabric. My aunt Janet taught me to quilt from a very young age. A few remnants from the first quilt she made for me live on in this sculpture, as does some fabric she sent me during 2020, when we made 100s of PPE masks and donated them to hospitals and organizations.”
